We process your Personal Information for transacting, maintaining or establishing a customer or business relationship and for maintaining (other) business contacts. These are personal details (name, address and other contact details like e-mail address). In some instances, we also process your job position. Your Personal Information is collected from you directly, for instance, when exchanging business cards or if you send a query or suggestions using a contact form or via e-mail. When we store your Personal Information in our Customer Relation Management system we will additionally ask you for your consent.

2.2.2. Event registration

You can register for events organized or conducted in the facilities of the German Centre Beijing via a registration tool on our website, using a contact form or via e-mail. In that case, we will store your name, email address and telephone number. When registering via the registration tool on our website we will additionally ask you for your consent to store and use your Personal Information.

2.2.3. E-mail newsletter

You can register for our email newsletter via the registration function on our website. In that case, we will store and use your email address. We will only send you a copy of our newsletter if you have given us your consent to do so. To verify your acceptance, we will send you a link to confirm that you wish to receive the newsletter. Once you have done so, you can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time. We will then delete your e-mail address from the list of recipients of our newsletter. 2.2.4. German Centre WeChat channel

You can register for the German Centre WeChat channel to receive news and updates about our activities. When registering for our WeChat channel, WeChat will ask you for your consent, that we will be able to access the following Personal Information stored by WeChat: User Alias, Profile Photo, gender, region and location info. The Personal Information will not be available to us once you decide to unfollow our WeChat channel using the functions of WeChat.

2.3. We will generally try to ask you for your consent before collecting and processing your Personal Information. Please be aware that in certain cases we are not required to ask you for your consent. These cases inter alia include:

  • The Personal Information is required to sign or perform a contract;
  • The Personal Information is required for the safe and stable operation of our services, such as discovering failures or bugs in our website;

Our use the Social Plugin “LinkedIn Widget”, which make it easier to share or call up content on social networks. We use technical solutions designed to ensure that no contact with the servers of social network operators is established unless the Social Plugin is activated. By activating the deactivated Social Plugin you grant your consent to the transmission of data to the social network. On activation, data are transmitted to third parties.

Without activation no data transfer takes place to the operators of the social networks.

4.1. Sharing of your Personal Information

We will not share your Personal Information with any other third parties except as specified in this Privacy Policy, or in circumstances where you consent to such sharing.

For this reason, the so-called "enhanced data protection mode" has been activated for all YouTube videos on our web pages. This enhanced data protection mode makes YouTube available and thus guarantees that YouTube does not store cookies with personal data on your computer so long as no video has been clicked and played using the YouTube video player. The IP address is transferred when the web pages are called up and to embed the videos. The IP address cannot be allocated unless you have logged onto YouTube or another Google service before calling up the web page or unless you are logged on permanently.

As soon as you start replaying an embedded YouTube video by clicking on it, YouTube via the enhanced data protection mode will store on your computer only cookies that include no personally identifiable data. These cookies can be blocked by use of the corresponding browser settings and extensions.

9. Use of Like-buttons, Social Plugins.

Our links to social networks (Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus) use Social Plugins, which make it easier to share or call up content on social networks. We use technical solutions designed to ensure that no contact with the servers of social network operators is established unless the Social Plugin is activated. By activating the deactivated Social Plugin you grant your consent to the transmission of data to the social network. On activation, data are transmitted to third parties.

Without activation no data transfer takes place to the operators of the social networks.
