Automotive Roundtable: New Energy Vehicle Development.

On 23 October 2018 the Automotive Roundtable is back at German Centre Beijing with a forward-thinking issue.

The Automotive Roundtable Beijing provides a platform for regular information, exchange and networking within the automotive industry. Organized by German-Inspired Events in cooperation with the German Centre Beijing as an event-partner.

New energy vehicles stand for the future development of automobile industry and all countries in the world increased national investment in new energy vehicles. China has continued to increase supportive strength to new energy vehicles, to obtain better opportunities for development. What is the present situation of new energy vehicles and what are the problems should be paid attention to? By joining this automotive roundtable, you will get insights from experts of manu­fac­tur­ing industry, energy industry as well as universities on the development of new energy vehicles in China regarding the future trends, the development of new technologies, and their impacts on the automotive industry.

18:45 pm: Presentation: Roadmaps for Sustainable Transportation Systems
By Mr. Mats Harborn, Executive Director, Scania China Strategic Office & President European Union Chamber of Commerce in China

Mr. Mats Harborn is Executive Director of Scania China Strategic Center with focus on long-term business development, He also serves as Vice Chairman of Scania Sales (China) Co Ltd. Mr. Harborn has been a very active participant in the Chinese public debate on the improvement of the transport and logistics industry. He has lived and worked in China for over 20 years with fluent Chinese. In May 2017 Mats Harborn was elected President of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China. He had served on the Chamber's Executive Committee since 2013, as Vice President and as States' Repre­sen­tative.

Rolf Weinowski has rich experience in Automotive Industry. He studied mechanical engineering, combustion engines in the University Aachen. After graduation he started his career as development engineer responsible for V8-engine thermodynamics and calibration at Mercedes-Benz AG in Stuttgart, Germany. In 1988 he got a promotion to team manager. In 1995 he joined FEV GmbH, then he has successively held the posts of senior engineer calibration, team manager gasoline calibration, department manager gasoline calibration, general manager vehicle application center, vice president gasoline engines. Rolf Weinowski came to China in 2012 and took the role of vice chairman engineering and test systems in FEV China. From 2014 he is the chairman of the board in FEV China.

Dr. Shizhong Li is a full professor and deputy director of the Institute of New Energy Technology, Tsinghua University, Adjunct Professor of Hong Kong University of Science & Technology, Editor of Biomass and Bioenergy. He is also the executive director of MOST-USDA Joint Research Center for Biofuels (China), the director of Beijing Engineering Research Center for Biofuels, the consultant to Hainan Provincial Government, the member of Advisory Board of International Risk Governance Council (IRGC). He conducts leading research on advanced biofuels, such as 1.5 generation biofuels and 2nd, 4th generation biofules, has established the primary database of Biomass Chemical Engineering Thermodynamics and fundamental research system for solid state bioreaction at nm, μm, mm, and m levels, and developed the largest solid state bioreactor (55m in length, 3.6m in diameter) which is successful in operation for bioethanol production in the world. He has more than 100 publications and 21 granted innovation patents. He also contributes to roadmap designing, development strategy formulating and incentive policy making for promoting China’s Biofuel and Bioenergy industry.

Ingo Neumann, Senior Consultant, UNITY Business Consulting (Shanghai) Co., Ltd.

Ingo Neumann is senior consultant at UNITY China. He studied business administration and engineering with a major in production technology and industrial engineering in the University Aachen and Tsinghua University. After graduation he started his career as consultant, and his consulting focus is on lean production, process management and project management. With several years of experience, Ingo Neumann is now expert for agile project management. He is coaching and training various teams from several different industries. Among them are customers from automotive OEM, automotive suppliers and aviation.
