Ebner Stolz is one of the largest accounting and tax consulting firms for small and mid-sized companies in Germany. Their Beijing subsidiary is offering a broad range of professional services for international clients doing business in China.
We sat down with Mr. Christian Vogt, Partner of Ebner Stolz, to talk about the company’s business in China, their service portfolio and current market developments, as well as their new office space at the German Centre.
What services do you provide and who are your main customer groups in China?
CV: Our main business areas are Accounting & Controlling, Tax Advisory, Audit and Due Diligence. We also offer corporate services such as support with the foundation, restructuring and liquidation of companies, in particular with regard to finance and tax related issues. Thanks to our close cooperation with the Ebner Stolz colleagues in Germany, we can provide qualified support by experts from China and Germany for cross border projects.
Most of our clients are companies from the German speaking European countries and their subsidiaries in China, with a focus on smaller to medium sized companies.
How long have you been operating in China and where are you located?
CV: Our company in China was established in 2014. We have offices in Shanghai, Beijing and Taicang, so that we can conveniently provide local support to the clients in these regions. As our client base is constantly growing, we also continue to expand our personnel resources to fulfil the needs of our clients.
We are happy to welcome you as a new tenant. Why did you decide to open an office in the German Centre Beijing and what are the benefits of the new location?
CV: We like to be close to our customers. We are already working for several tenants of the German Centre, and we are looking forward to provide our services to all tenants who may need a partner in the areas of accounting, audit and taxes.
We really value the support of the German Centre for the German business community in Beijing, in particular the infrastructure it provides for training and events on focused on specific business topics.
What future opportunities do you see in China and what are your goals for 2021?
CV: As the government administration of corporate activities, taxation and employment in China is becoming more mature, foreign investors in China are becoming more aware of the importance of good governance of their operations in China in order to ensure compliance with the ever changing local regulations.
We want to further enhance the visibility of Ebner Stolz in China as a partner for German and European companies in China.
