1.2. Personal Information refers to all kinds of information related to identified or identifiable natural persons recorded by electronic or other means, excluding the information processed anonymously. This for example includes your name, your address, your email and your telephone number.
2. Which Personal Information are we processing? For what purpose?
2.1. We process your Personal Information to offer our services to you and to answer your enquiries. That includes:
- Customer Relation Management, e.g. when you are interested in renting rooms in the German Centre Beijing or in other services of the German Centre Group: name, address and other contact information like your email address. In some instances, we might process your job position;
- Event Registration: name, email address and telephone number;
- E-Mail newsletter: email address;
- WeChat-channel, we receive from WeChat the following information: User Alias, Profile Photo, gender, region and location information.
3. Do we share Personal Information with third parties?
We will not provide your Personal Information to any other third parties without your consent to such providing of Personal Information unless otherwise provided for by laws and administrative regulations. All our employees as well as our service providers are obliged to comply with the data protection regulations and our guidelines.

4.1. We use security measures that comply with industry standards to protect your Personal Information and to prevent unauthorized access, disclosure, unauthorized use, modification, damage or loss of your personal information.

1.2. The German Centre Beijing knows the importance of Personal Information to you and will do its best to protect your Personal Information safely and reliably. We are committed to maintaining your trust in us and following the principles of legality, justification and necessity, good faith, openness and transparency to protect your Personal Information. At the same time, we take appropriate security measures to protect your Personal Information according to current security standards.
2.1.1. Customer Relation Management
For transacting, maintaining or establishing a customer or business relationship and for maintaining (other) business contacts between you and us or other members of the German Centre Group (German Centre for Industry and Trade GmbH, Beteiligungsgesellschaft, Stuttgart, German Centres Mexico, Moscow und Singapore), you need to provide us with your personal information including your name, address and other contact details like e-mail address, and in some instances, your job position.
Your Personal Information can be provided by you directly, for instance, when exchanging business cards or if you send a query or suggestions using a contact form or via e-mail.
To achieve the purposes mentioned above, we will use your Personal Information provided to us to contact you by sending you emails, newsletters, event invitations, business promotions or implementing other business activities via our Customer Relation Management system, private emails or other channels.
2.1.2. Event registration
You can register for events organized or conducted in the facilities of the German Centre Beijing via a registration tool on our website, using a contact form or via e-mail. In that case, you need to provide us with your name, email address and telephone number. When registering via the registration tool on our website we will additionally ask you for your consent to process your Personal Information.
2.1.3. E-mail newsletter
You can register for our email newsletter via the registration function on our website. In that case, you need to provide us with your email address. We will only send you a copy of our newsletter if you have given us your consent to do so. To verify your acceptance, we will send you a link to confirm that you wish to receive the newsletter. Once you have done so, you can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time. We will then delete your e-mail address from the list of recipients of our newsletter. 2.1.4. Meeting and conference rooms booking
You can book our meeting and conference room via our website. In that case, you need to register on our website. For the registration, you need to provide us with your personal information and billing address, which include your name, company, email address and telephone number, the password you set up, the name of the recipient and the address of the recipient. In addition, we will additionally ask you for your consent on the data protection regulations and general terms and conditions.
2.1.5. German Centre WeChat channel
You can register for the German Centre WeChat channel to receive news and updates about our activities. The processing of your Personal Information for the purposes referred to in Article 2.1 is based on consent pursuant to Article 6 (1) (a) GDPR. In individual cases, processing may be carried out for the performance of a contract or for the implementation of pre-contractual measures in accordance with Article 6 (1) (b) GDPR.
2.4. We generally process your Personal Information until you request removal or deletion of your Personal Information, except we are required to store the Personal Information by applicable laws and regulations.
2.5. When we want to use your Personal Information for other purposes that we did not clearly state in our policy, we will ask for your consent beforehand.

3.5. Utilities, active content

Our use the Social Plugin “LinkedIn Widget”, which make it easier to share or call up content on social networks. We use technical solutions designed to ensure that no contact with the servers of social network operators is established unless the Social Plugin is activated. By activating the deactivated Social Plugin you grant your consent to the transmission of data to the social network. On activation, data are transmitted to third parties.
Without activation no data transfer takes place to the operators of the social networks.

The processing of your Personal Information for the purposes described in Articles 3.1 to 3.6 is necessary for the purposes of our legitimate interests pursuant to Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR.
